About World Globes

The oldest existing intact globe of the earth was made by Martin Behaim in Neuremburg, Germany in the years 1492-1493.  He was a German navigator and geographer for King John of Portugal.

Globe model showed that the earth was round in opposition to the thinkers of the flat earth.  You can see that Africa and Asia was on it but not the Americas since they had not yet been discovered.
